Chris Corey kicks off the rollout of his highly anticipated debut album

With so much more music headed our way in 2023, we’re taking a close look into the growing discography of emerging artist, Chris Corey. Keep reading for our analysis of his music, as well as a much needed background too.

For those potentially out of the loop, Chris Corey is a Vancouver, British Columbia-based singer and songwriter who’s consistently serving up impassioned and inventive music. Having a hallmark year in 2022 which was made up of two singles and even a remix, he’s preparing for so much more in the coming months. Somehow bridging the gap between compelling lyricism, expressive vocals, and ultimately well rounded tracks, now’s the ideal time to hop on the artist’s bandwagon as his stock continues to rise.

One of the major factors of our appreciation for his sound is his ability to avoid being pigeonholed into one thing. Listeners can expect a diverse range of styles and genres that span to New Wave, Rock, Country, and Folk, but always a little signature pizzazz of his own to keep things sounding fresh and interesting. His last two tracks “Seven Year Itch” and “Stepping Stones” are perfect examples of his breadth of talent, but it turns out he’s actually in the studio right now putting the finishing touches on a debut album. One thing is for certain though, we can virtually guarantee that the heart and soul of his music will be sticking around, mainly centered around his imagery-filled lyricism and ability to paint a picture in your head.

Considering he’s been pumping out greatness since around 2019, it’s been really nice that you’re always getting something different. Though there’s definitely similar characteristics in his music that latch on from track to track, his creative streak has yet to run dry. We looked closer at the newer songs as mentioned and are hoping that whatever his record shapes up to sound like, it has that cohesive feeling most of the catalog has to offer. We suppose that comes directly from his vocals which act as the glue to the project, but instrumentally speaking, we’ve got a sneaking suspicion he’s got some surprises up his sleeve. Whatever journey he plans on taking, just know that we’ve got our ticket and are ready for the ride.

While we patiently wait for more, please go ahead and click those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for all major news and information. Enjoy!
